Another One Bites the Dust

The Rocky Mountain News publishes its last paper [today].

As the article notes, more are on the way:

Today's announcement comes as metropolitan newspapers and major newspaper companies find themselves reeling, with plummeting advertising revenues and dramatically diminished share prices. Just this week, Hearst, owner of the San Francisco Chronicle, announced that unless it was able to make immediate and steep expense cuts it would put the paper up for sale and possibly close it. Two other papers in JOAs, one in Seattle and the other in Tucson, are facing closure in coming weeks.

And, the Phinqy is about to die:

Joining a group of more than half a dozen major US dailies, Philadelphia Inquirer has filed for bankruptcy.

Hard to feel bad for all these failures, given the last 40 years of fascist/socialist cheerleading they've done. I'm sure the people who work at them are all just stunned that the American public ever caught on to the fact their daily newspaper was lying to them about nearly everything. I'm sure some of these "journalists" will find work at the local weekly edition of the Socialist Workers Party newspaper, or whatever the rag is called that they sell at card tables at music festivals.

The others will likely apply to work as clerks at the local DMV, or deliver pizzas. It's not as if the average "journalist" has any actual skills to peddle. I know, I was one.

Unfortunately, the damage is done. Barry O! is president and busily working to "fundamentally change" America. Thanks for that, "journalists."

Indulgences

Newspapers Lie

Via Instapundit, the latest lie from a daily newspaper about reality:

AIRBRUSHING IN THE EAST VALLEY TRIBUNE? So I linked to a story on high school students skeptical about Obama’s stimulus speech. Now the story has the same headline, but the quotes are missing, replaced by a bunch of feelgood talk about how excited everyone was to have Obama in town. But you can find the original story here. And here’s the Google Cache. Some difference, huh? I emailed the reporter, Hayley Ringle, to ask what happened.

Jouranlism=Propaganda

It's not like I'm the only one who has noticed this:

At some point during the 1970’s a large part of the mainstream media decided to abandon journalism to become the Ministry of Truth. Advocacy journalism, instructing the peons and elevating their consciousness. The slo-mo but accelerating business disaster that resulted — loss of audience, fading profits, layoffs — should not detract from their considerable success at mastering the techniques of propaganda.

This is just another post by someone debunking the whole anthropogenic global warming scam, showing how the mainstream media and the left lie in an unending effort to confuse and mislead the public. The truth is out there, and it is slowly finding its way to the masses.

Not Working Makes You Free!

For a while now, you've heard ads on the radio in which your state government is soliciting citizens to sign up for food stamps. You might qualify! Call your local food stamp office to find out if you do. Now, the Obama Administration and Congressional Democrats are rolling back the welfare reforms of the 1990s to encourage more free-born citizens of the republic to sign up for government cash payments instead of working.

I guess only suckers work for a living.

Act Now or Die!

Or, maybe not so much. What's a three day weekend off going to matter? Obama, man of inaction:

After pushing Congress for weeks to hurry up and pass the massive $787 billion stimulus bill, President Obama promptly took off for a three-day holiday getaway.

The push to get the bill through before the holiday weekend was so frantic, members of Congress didn't have a chance to read all 1,071 pages of the document before they could vote.

I guess it's not really as bad out there as we're being led to believe.

At the National Press Club. I suspect we'll be seeing an increase in administration secrecy as the next four years progress. These guys can't afford to allow anyone to catch on to what they're doing.

The Spendulus Bill, Exposed

The Democratic spendulus bill is about to pass into law, giving billions -- wait for it BILLIONS -- of dollars in wasteful spending to Democratic Party interests. What do you, average taxpayer, get out of it? This:

It includes Obama's signature "Making Work Pay" tax credit for 95 percent of workers, though negotiators agreed to trim the credit to $400 a year instead of $500 — or $800 for married couples, cut from Obama's original proposal of $1,000. It would begin showing up in most workers' paychecks in June as an extra $13 a week in take-home pay, falling to about $8 a week next January.

Yep, the Democrats are taking $2,700 from you right now (every man, woman and child legally in America) and will, later, give you back $13 a week.

Read the stimulus. It won't stimulate anything except the Democrat Party, and the Democrat Party is nothing but national socialists, greens, environmentalists, international socialists, secret communists, and animal rights activists. They aren't interested in actual Americans or the American way of life.

Obama's Brand of Fascism

What's the old adage attributed to Hilter? That if you're going to lie, lie big because people are more likely to believe a big lie over a small lie. Well, Obama just stepped up to the microphone and went large with the lie:

"This recession might linger for years. Our economy will lose 5 million more jobs. Unemployment will approach double digits. Our nation will sink deeper into a crisis that, at some point, we may not be able to reverse," Obama wrote in the newspaper piece titled, "The Action Americans Need."

He rejected the argument that more tax cuts are needed in the plan and that piecemeal measures would be sufficient, arguing that Americans made their intentions clear in the election.

First off, this is just plain made-up predictions. Nobody knows what will happen if this spending and pork project is not passed. Most likely, normal market capitalism will sort it all out if the government does absolutely nothing, which is unlikely.

Second, this a-hole Obama is lying through his teeth about tax cuts, as this was the central premise to his whole campaign: 95% of working Americans would get a tax cut. Remember that? Now, safely ensconced in the White House, he's telling Americans that they didn't vote him in because they wanted tax cuts.

So, what we have here is B. Hussein Obama trying to now convince the people of this country that only the government can save them and all must bow before governmental authority. And we have the millions of uninformed, unthinking herd drones to thank for it.

Yes, she said it: 500 million Americans lose their jobs every month we go without a stimulus pork spending bill. She doesn't know how many Americans live in America, obviously, and she apparently just made up this number to sound scary and hasten passage of her pork spending stimulus package. Nancy Pelosi is a complete moron.

Strike One! Strike Two!

I don't know about an implosion, but I agree somewhat with Victor Davis Hanson that this knucklehead B. Hussein Obama seems to be whiffing out:

Some of us have been warning that it was not healthy for the U.S. media to have deified rather than questioned Obama, especially given that they tore apart Bush, ridiculed Palin, and caricatured Hillary. And now we can see the results of their two years of advocacy rather than scrutiny.

We are quite literally after two weeks teetering on an Obama implosion—and with no Dick Morris to bail him out—brought on by messianic delusions of grandeur, hubris, and a strange naivete that soaring rhetoric and a multiracial profile can add requisite cover to good old-fashioned Chicago politicking.

Barry O! doesn't realize that Pelosi and Reid are rolling him like a drunken hobo because Hussein Obama is too dazzled by the press buzz he's getting. I mean, shoot, the big-eared doofus is on the cover of some magazine or another every single freaking week where we're told history is being made by some super-genius savior, so why would he not believe it?

The only really good thing about an Obama Administration collapse would be the intraparty infighting that would ensue. But while the socialists in the Democratic Party fought it out for control, who'd be watching the gates of America?
